In Ireland!

Okay, i am here!
i was gonna post yesterday, but i was too tired and lazy. oops!
my flight was okay, but looong. toronto to paris took about 7 hours, then paris to dublin took 1.5. near the end of the first flight, i was getting really frustrated cuz i was so tired but i couldn't sleep. i started staring at the screen in front of me that told me how far along the plane was.

the airport at paris was pretty nice, but i almost got lost! it was big!

during the paris to dublin flight, i sat next to this woman who was from Idaho, and we had some good conversations. she kept talking about her son and about how Idaho has a lot of potatos. and then she asked me about Canadian currency. and i told her how it's pretty good and the exchange rate was quite high now compared to US currency. and then i totally dissed US currency (i couldn't help it!) i was like, "yeah, Canadian money is different colours. US money kinda sucks cuz it's all one colour, it's so hard to tell what the amount is!" and she kinda just looked at me and didn't say anything. hahaha! anyway, we got near Ireland and i caught the first glimpse of the country. it is by far the greenest country i've ever seen from a plane!

the bus driver from the airport was super helpful, i wish bus drivers in toronto were like that! anyway, when i got off the bus i had to walk up a hill to get to my hostel. it was kinda treacherous since i was lugging my huge suitcase, a carry-on, and a backpack! i passed this one building where this oldish man was parking his bike, and he saw me struggling. he came right over and was like "i work right here, but do you need help? i'm gonna help you carry this to your hostel!" and i was like, "oh, it's okay i can manage!" but he insisted on helping me. he was sooo nice! at one point i was like, "aren't you late for work?" and he looked at his watch and was like, "well... yeah, but it's okay!" so he helped me carry my luggage all the way to the hostel. i was impressed. :) :)

(the side i'm looking at, the opposide side of this pic is the second pic)

(the hill i was walking up before i saw the man)

anyway, after i checked into the hostel, i went out to walk around. took some pictures and whatnot. i don't think i checked my map once (til later). if you keep walking, you'll eventually come back to the same place. it's kinda like a circle. anyway... i hopped on a random bus at one point, just to see where it would take me i have no idea what bus it was.

(notice the creepy guy in the background)

after 7 minutes-ish, it came to some posh neighbourhood, and i was kinda worried i went too far, so i got off, looked at my map (!) and walked back. it was a good adventure. anyway... random stuff, since i don't feel like typing full sentences anymore:

-crossing the street is scary! i kept looking the wrong way! BUT (!!) -- look down and the road will tell you where to look!

- i walked by this park called St. Stephan's Green, and it was beautiful. and very green.

- and some random snapshots

~~~
today was a good day. my orientation kinda sucked though because the woman who was doing it was in a terrible mood and was totally taking it out on us. it was pretty bad. i don't think anyone liked her. on the other hand, i met some pretty neat people! i have friends now! i'm not a loser anymore! hahaha! so i met this one girl who goes to school at Univ. of Waterloo, what a coincidence! and a girl from Quebec, and a girl from Ohio, whom i'm most likely going to live with! yaaaayyyy! so me, UW girl and ohio girl hung out all day, walked around, fixed our cellphones (mobiles!), and got some coffee (strong!) it was good times! and then when we all left, i took a bus to get back to the hostel, since it was raining and i didn't want to walk. but the bus driver dropped me off the wrong place and gave me the wrong directions, so i got lost for like half an hour! bah. anyway, now i'm back and it is taking me a long time to write this, since im also msning to multiple people. :) but it's all good.
but i'm tired of writing now, so i'm going to stop. til next time!
